1922 Was born in near Venice, Italy.
1945 Came to Paris. Started to work for Paquin, then Schiaparelli. Worked with Jean

Cocteau and Christian Berard – made numerous costumes and masks for several films, such as Beauty and the Beast.
1946 – Began to work for Christian Dior, in 1947 became head of Christian Dior’s atelier.
1950 – Creation of his fashion house.
1953 – Presentation of his first collection.

1954 – His bubble dresses triumph throughout the world. Opening of the first boutiques in Paris: EVE, then ADAM.
1966 – First children’s collection presentation. Opening of his children’s shop in Paris.

1986 – Pierre Cardin signs a contract with the USSR for the local production of ready-to-wear for men, women and children. In 1987, he opens a 10,000 square meter showroom.

1996 – For the opening of the 26th Olympic Games in Atlanta, Pierre Cardin presents his EVOLUTIVE collection, specially created for this event. Pierre Cardin presents in Paris a new ready-to-wear collection for 16-25 year olds: the EVOLUTION line.
2000 – Pierre Cardin launches the magazine Parfums et senteurs and creates the Editions Pierre Cardin.
2002 – Retrospective exhibition in Tokyo for his 50 years of career.

Cardin was the first

couturier to turn to Japan as a high fashion market when he travelled there in 1959.

200,000 persons all over the world work under the trademark Pierre Cardin. 900 licences spread out through 140 countries. Pierre Cardin mark is one of the most powerful.
