A young Italian designer is banking on Zinedine Zidane’s notorious World Cup headbutt to make his mark on the fashion world.
Alessandro Ferrari, 28, has come up with a line of T-shirts, polo-necks and fleece jerseys featuring a stylised logo of a man hitting someone with his head – much like the France legend did when he amazed the soccer world by ramming Italy defender Marco Materazzi in France World Cup Final defeat to Italy.
Ferrari has dubbed the line Xqua, pronounced Perqua, to echo the Pourquoi, pourquoi, pourquoi? (Why, why, why?) with which French public TVs shocked commentator reacted to Zizou’s act.
Ferrari obviously hopes his tops will be a success but also claims they can help spread a culture of non-violence.
�I decided to use that regrettable incident to launch a positive social message while offering a top-quality, trendy product, he said.

A female radio presenter has been sacked – for dressing too sexily on air. The 25-year-old DJ, known as Lady Ray, is now taking Radio Bremen to an industrial tribunal. She said: “My boss told me that my skirts were too short and my tops too low. “But I don’t understand it, it’s not as if any of the listeners can see me and my breasts don’t speak into the microphone.” She is claiming damages for unfair dismissal.

Pierre Cardin said: “I am not interested in money, just funny to see what new owners will do with it.” Its no information yet to whom Cardin is going to sell his business, he has only hinted that already three companies are interested in it. Guido Dolci, the president of Assem (an association that represents some of the largest fashion agencies operating in Milan) said:

“When you go to New York or Paris, there are rules you have to follow. You need a visa to work, or a license. But when people come to Milan, there are no rules. I have worked in the industry for 25 years and I see many agencies that come to Milan and do work without any permits.”

Harajuku Girl is a term to describe young womens and teenagers special wearing style. Harajuku is a trendy young area of Tokyo (Japan). Groups of young people has regular (every Sunday) meeting in Yoyogi Park for costume play. They put on different (funny, scared, bright) make up and combine traditional Japanese kimonos, brightly colored accessories, western clothing styles, hello kitties (Hello Kitty), things they bought from charity shops, very high priced designer clothes.

There are many fashion styles, and many different groups:  Gothic Lolita (Gothloli), Kogal, Decora, Second-Hand Fashion, Wamono, Cyber Fashion, Ganguro. Seems, one of the most popular styles is Gothic Lolita – mix from Lolita innocent style and gothic style. The other one is cosupure (costume+play). Girls dress as their favorite characters from manga, anime, video games, and Japanese pop music bands.

FRUiTS is a Japanese fashion magazine covering the Harajuku style. FRUiTS was established by in 1994 by photographer Shoichi Aoki. Two books were created FRUiTS (2001) and FRESH FRUiTS (2005).

Harajuku girl’s style was almost unknown outside Japan  before. Popularity grown when famous singer Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) featured them in her solo debut album Love. Angel. Music. Baby and created her own fashion line L.A.M.B. Stefani also had Harajuku girls trailing after her in promotional and red carpet events. Egor Zaitsev – one of the most ambiguous faces in Russian fashion. Being a son of Vjacheslav Zaitsev, the famous Russian designer, seems Egor doesn’t like when people talking about it too often. Public’s attitude is very different. This woman-insect style, created by Egor, could be funny and frightening in the same time. “All my fantasies are my fears”, – says Egor. First collection he created in 1983, from 1990 started to participate in fashion shows.

“Fashion is when people can’t understand you.

Business is when somebody trying to buy you.

But when everybody can understand you – it’s like a pop music”.
