From 1983 to 1994 Jean-Paul Gaultier designed the costumes for about 18 ballet shows choreographed by Regine Chopinot. As a part of Jean-Paul Gaultiers thirty years of creation this exhibition presents the result of collaboration between couturier and choreographer, also Jean-Paul Gaultiers haute couture examples. Ballet costumes are shown for the first time.

After a number of goods reached 3500, the Museum of Bags and Purses has moved from a small Netherlands town named Amstelveen to Amsterdam.
The museum presents examples from the Middle Ages until the present day period: 16th century ladies’ suitcases, 17th century pouches and alms purses, 18th century thigh bags, wallets, framed and knitted bags, 19th century reticules and stocking purses, and also original Pierre Cardin, Paco Rabanne, Yves Saint Laurent, Gianni Versace, Paul Smith, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Donna Karan, MiuMiu, Chloe, Fendi etc bags.

Excellent book, covers the fashion period from 1900 till 2000. On each page you will find photo with a date and the large comment. It is a good illustrated mini-encyclopedia for everybody interested in fashion and suit history.

Unfortunately, I don�t know, what they advertise (I guess clothes, but not sure). Anyway, a fashion of the end of 60s is showed quite well.

For sale Moonboots were created in the early 1970’s by footwear manufacturer Tecnica, but this company is not the only one creating such a boots. From the last Winter Moonboots are on the top again, Dior, Pucci (images 3, 5), Ugg Boots created their own variants. The real Moonboots constructed with a thin rubber outsole and cellular rubber midsole. The boot is sized small, medium, large, etc. and has no left and no right.

The 1960s were a time of sweeping changes in society, politics and culture. Britain began to prosper again, and the young enjoyed a new freedom. As Time magazine famously explained to its American readers, London has burst into bloom. It swings; it is the scene.
Fashion, together with pop music, became Britain’s most spectacular export. Like music, it flouted the rules of propriety and gender. It plundered the past, invented the future and travelled the world to find new ways of dressing.

In 1872, Levi Straus – one of the Levi Strauss & Co company owners, received a letter from Jacob Davis, a tailor who was born in Riga (Latvia) and moved to USA, Nevada. In this letter, Davis told Levi about the interesting way in which he made pants for his customers: he placed metal rivets at pocket corners and on the base of the fly. As he didn’t have the money to patent his process he suggested that Levi pay for the paperwork and that they take out the patent together. On May 20, 1873 Davis and company Levi Strauss & Co got patent.
