Twenty-one years ago, the first Fashion and Photography Festival was held at Villa Noailles. Today, this Festival has become a renowned and acclaimed event. It has lead to the emergence of such figures as Viktor & Rolf, Gaspard Yurkievich, Sébastien Meunier or Alexandre Mathieu. Eight years running have seen the consecration of photographers, such as Charles Fréger, Martha Camarillo or Solve Sundsbo. Fashion professionals come to Villa Noailles every year, to discover new talents, admire fashion shows and reflect together on the prospective of the world of fashion, from design to distribution.

Contest:
Participants must send a complete file by mail, including their resume, precise contact details, samples of their work on A3 sheets and one or several projects, presented on a maximum of 5 A3 sheets, with the description of their intentions, drawings and technical specifications, as well as images of the prototype if available. 2006 year winners (fashion):
Anthony Vaccarello (Belgium) – the grand prize of the fashion jury + a prize of €15,000 from L’Oreal Professionel.
Julien Dossena (France) – the special prize from the jury + prize from fashion company 1.2.3 (a grant of €15,000 and the chance to design an entire collection that will be produced and distributed in France & Belgium).
Tuomas & Anna Laitine (Finland) – special prize from the fashion jury.
Aurore Thibout (France) – the prize from the public (people) of Hyères.

Every winner gets pages in the next issue of LE BOOK (Paris, New York and London editions).
Every winner gets their own mini websites on the “international references” pages from modemonline.
Every winner invited to the IDEAL Fashion fair in Berlin in July.
Anthony Vaccarello and Aurore Thibout will represent France as participants from the festival d’Hyères, next Octobre in Brussels, during the annual fashion show organised by the Weekend Knack – Weekend Le Vif/L’Express.
They got opportunity to present the collections in a store in Paris (boutique’s Maria Luisa and Gallery’s Joyce MA prize).

2006 will bet the third year of Fashion Fringe, the hottest thing to hit British fashion in the last 20 years. Created in 2004 with the support of Red Bull, the challenge is to reinvigorate the fashion industry in this country. Fashion Fringe is looking for cutting edge, iconoclastic talent in design and creativity to continue the tradition has long been famous for. Fashion Fringe is open to both British and Irish residents.
